Op 4 januari 2010 verscheen niet alleen de nieuwe automaatzegel van BIRDPEX, maar ook de eerste postzegel van 2010: een Kerkuil van niet minder dan 4,60 € (met een speciale afstempeling).

Wildbirds Broadcasting

Op 27 oktober heeft de blog “Wildbirds Broadcasting” een uitgebreid artikel aan BIRDPEX gewijd.

Nog inschrijven tot 30/11

Er zijn al meer dan 40 inschrijvingen voor BIRDPEX, maar er kunnen er nog altijd een aantal bij. De inschrijvingsdatum werd verlengd tot 30 november 2009. Voor de twijfelaars, wacht niet langer en schrijf nu in voor BIRDPEX 6.

Automaatzegel BIRDPEX

Op 4 januari 2010 wordt een automaatzegel BIRDPEX uitgegeven. Daar zal niet alleen het logo van de BIRDPEX opstaan, maar ook de Kerkuil (ook op een postzegel van André Buzin die op dezelfde dag in Brussel zal verkrijgbaar zijn).

Duostamp Grote Zilverreiger van Buzin

Op 24 oktober is er in het Streekmuseum „De Zilverreiger“ in Bornem (Scheldestraat 18) een duostamp met een Zilverreiger (naar en schilderij van André Buzin) verkrijgbaar. Er zal ook een tijdelijk postkantoor met bijzondere afstempeling aanwezig zijn.

Rallen van Noord-Korea

Ook Noord-Korea heeft een blokje met het logo van BIRDPEX 6 en enkele nieuwe vogelsoorten op postzegel uitgegeven: Bruin Porseleinhoen, Mandsjoerijse Ral en Kleinst Waterhoen.

Vogels op postzegels van Brazilië

Brazilië is het eerste land dat postzegels uitgeeft met het logo van BIRDPEX 6. Zij reageerden positief op onze vraag om postzegels uit te geven met vogelsoorten die nog nooit voordien op postzegel hebben gestaan en die typisch zijn voor hun regio.

Roofvogels van Buzin op ANTVERPIA 2010

Op 20 oktober heeft de business unit „Stamps & Philately“ van de Belgische Post de postzegeluitgiften van 2010 aan de pers voorgesteld. Er zal ter gelegenheid van ANTVERPIA en BIRDPEX een speciale postzegeluitgifte met vogels van André Buzin uitgegeven worden. Daarop zullen 6 verschillende roofvogels worden afgebeeld: Visarend, Buizerd, Boomvalk, Sperwer, Rode Wouw en Havik.

New bird from Malaysia

Maybe the Malaysian Post picked up our idea to issue birds “that never have been shown before on stamps”. On 21st of January the series “Unique Birds of Malaysia” has been emitted. Four birds rarely shown on stamps, and one of them, the Malayan Whistling Thrush (Myaphonus robinsoni) never before on a stamp.

There has been a problem with the block of the Plain-pouched Hornbill. The name of the country was forgotten on the stamp, so there will be a new issue of this block.

25 years André Buzin

On occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Belgian “bird” stamps of André Buzin the Belgian Post will emit a special stamp issue on 12th of April 2010.

This will be in a series of “25 years of high-fliers in philately”.

Cancellation of the Great Egret

On 30th of May 2009 there will be a special cancellation of the Great Egret (Casmerodius albus) after a painting of André Buzin.

This will be available in a temporary post office in Weert (Bornem), Streekmuseum De Zilverreiger vzw, Scheldestraat 18.

Also available here a special envelope and a souvenir card (contact Edith Gorissen).

Problem solved with entry form

There has been some problems with the pdf-form on the website, but this problem is solved now.

The first subscription with the form of the website already arrived.

New bird stamp – the White-tailed Eagle

The year 2009 started on 2nd of February with a bird stamp of André Buzin: the White-tailed Eagle. After the bird stamps of 21st of January 2008, almost one year ago, this is for the time being the last one in the successful series of Belgian bird stamps.

ANTVERPIA 2010 – vending machine stamp

On 9th of May a regional stamp exhibition will take place in Herentals (province of Antwerp) in preparation of the national stamp show ANTVERPIA 2010. There will be a stamp vending machine with a special machine stamp with publicity of ANTVERPIA 2010.
